Just when I thought Mallory Monroe had already outdone herself, she ups and proved me wrong. Sal Luca has replaced Tommy as my favorite Gabrini man for the simple fact that he's constantly having to overcome the obstacles and chaos life keeps throwing his way. It seems that Sal can never catch a break ... but he perseveres regardless. Gemma Jones, his girlfriend is the best of the Gabrini women ... unlike Trina and Grace, Gemma does not take any crap from Sal and she makes him work for the privilege of being her man. Sal is a true Alpha Male, but Gemma is no pushover and she makes sure Sal realizes this. However,she does gives her man the benefit of the doubt, doesn't jump to conclusions about the things she discovers about Sal, and sticks by him no matter what, even when outside forces try to come between her and Sal. There were a lot of "oh s***!" moments throughout the book ... definite page turners. I would strongly advise reading the first two Sal Gabrini books before reading this one. I would also recommend reading the Tommy Gabrini books and the Mob Boss books as well ... it's the only way to truly appreciate the back story of the Gabrini men. These books are definitely worth the money spent.

Just when I think there's no more stories to be told, and just when I think what could possibly happen next, Mallory Monroe hits us with a 2-piece!

In this installment of Sal Luca and Gemma who are fast becoming my favorite Gabrini couple, we get to see the softer, more vulnerable side of Sal, but don't get it twisted, he's still kicking ass and taking names! One thing these bad guys (and gals) will never learn DO NOT EFF WITH GEMMA JONES because there will be consequences and repercussions.

Good job Ms. Monroe. As always...

I told you I love me some Sal!!

The storyline was fast-paced, sexy and with another twisted ending!!

I am going to really hate not being able to read on Sal and Gemma's growing romance, but, they really need to cool down and take a breather.

I hope the author write some stories on the two new characters that was introduced in this book, Brent and Tony, they seem to be interesting!!

The author also need to re-edit the book, because of several incorrect words in the wrong place.

But I did really enjoy the book, I finished the book in one sitting.
Sal and Gemma are my favorite Gabrini couple. Gemma has always been a strong gal and Sal is an extremely kick ass passionate individual but I love him to death.
As for the writing, I was displeased. Mallory described (narrated) the characters too much rather than allowing the personalities/behaviors to grow organically through the story. There was too much narrative and not enough action. Mallory did not show her characters' character and behavior she rather described their behaviors with narratives which is the easy way out.
Overall, I enjoyed the story; it was a good read.
Love the new characters (Brent and Tony) could hardly wait to read their story.
I at first I thought Sal was was crude and had no class, but as I've learn more about Sal, I realize that his parents was the reason why. I've grown to really like Sal. This was really good. My one question that kept popping in my head was where was Charles? Why wasn't he at the hospital? Why didn't Sal and Gemma go see Charles while they were in town? Not once but twice! This is not a series you can skip any books with.
I love reading about Sal and Gemma. Sal is unpredictable, blunt, honest, loyal, loving and definitely the boss. Gemma is the perfect woman for him. She has steadily grown into a more confident woman with the ability to accept, love and support Sal in every way.
So heartbreaking that Sal was put in the position of having to kill both his parents to save the lives of two people who mean the world to him; Gemma and Tommy.
I can't help cheering for Sal and Gemma to keep their HEA going.
**I am curious if we will ever find out more about the mystery hitman Darby or Darcy.
What can I say? I am here for the long haul on this Gabrini series! Exciting and entertaining, plus hot, and I do mean hot sex, from these Gabrini Brothers! Sal and Gemma are a dynamic duel, power couple. I see more stories coming from these two. Ms Mallory Monroe is a Great Story Teller! She is a Genius, as far as I am concerned!🤗 I am hooked. I will continue to seek out and read her work! 5 Big Stars from me. BTW... My playlist for this series is Mayer Hawthorne!🤗
