Excellent presentation of arguments for the existence of God, the divinity of Jesus Christ, and the accuracy of the scriptures. Peter Kreeft is a Boston College professor that presents his arguments in a text-book fashion. I took one star away due to the complexity of some of his arguments. Perhaps, a philosophy teacher would add a star for the complexity. If you are looking for a layman's entry into apologetics, this probably isn't the book for you. However, if you want something a little deeper, this may be what you are seeking. I gave it to my nephew, and we are working through it now.

I keep looking for excuses to leave the faith, but this book, along with the Catechism, keep me from doing so. What I love about Catholicism is that everything has an answer. And I mean literally everything. If you truly take the time to search for an answer (because I guarantee there is one), then you will find yourself always coming back to the Catholic church. Excellent arguments and responses (literally, "apologies") are expressed in this book. I recommend for anyone looking to either defend their faith or thinking about joining a faith based on reason and logic.
This is a great book for the beginning believer to help them understand many of the questions they may have about their faith and salvation. For the seasoned believer this book is a great reference book to help them in answering questions from non-believers and new believers they are trying to help in their walk. I used this book to give me a stronger background in my testimony and when questioned about my faith it gives me a place to pull Biblical references to strengthen my position based on Biblical statement and not just my interpretation of the Bible. This is a great book to pass on to those new to the religious life.
Peter Kreeft has laid all the arguments in a logical sequence for defending the faith. Many references from which to obtain further knowledge of why we believe. Kreeft uses simple philosophical argument laid out in terms the layperson can easily understand. He shows both sides of the argument; explains why modernists, atheists, and unbelievers arguments fall flat and are a falsehood hoisted upon the less knowledgeable of the world. Best book on apologetics ever! A handy reference guide which I will refer to often and re-read often!
I have absolutely loved this 'handbook'. It is so intelligently and logically written, and demands repeated reading so that I can soak all of the knowledge in. I reads more like a book of solid Biblical Doctrine than a "apologetics for dummies' primer. But I highly highly recommend it. It is so good I loaned my first copy to a friend and never got it back, so I had to buy it again. The "Proofs for God" chapter is worth the cover price.
I can not complain about the content of this book. Kreeft is an excellent apologist in my opinion and this book covers a lot of ground in apologetics. However, it is much better suited to a Catholic high school theology class than to an evening read at home by a middle aged man. The format includes an outline at the beginning of each chapter and study questions at the end. Useful for students but I tended to skip over them.
Professor Keeft has published the definitive handbook for Apologetics. Having a MA in Theology from Vanderbilt and been a high-school theology teacher, I have read dozens of apologetics texts, both ancient and modern. None compare to this compendium. Kreeft refines and articulates both modern and classical arguments. If you own only one apologetics book, make sure it is this one.
This book is written in a particularly useful format each argument exists independently of the others. Because of that, the reader may school themselves on a particular argument such as the existence of God, and thoroughly assimilate its points, and use them in "real life", before studying other arguments and using them. In other words, the book is broken down into chapters that are useful, in and of themselves.

It helps to have some knowledge of the terminology of philosophy and debate to get the most from this book.
